Can I leave my child while they are in class?
Parents are required to be on the premises during classes not only for the safety of your child, but also per the requirements set forth by Gold's Gym while we rent their space. People who are not Gold's Gym members are not allowed under any circumstances to use their equipment while on site for our classes.
What about the bathrooms?
If your child needs to use the restroom during class, they must be escorted to and from the restroom, instructors will not take children to the restroom.
Are walk-ins welcome?
Due to requirements set forth by Gold's Gym, we must have a class roster for sign-ins at the front desk. This requires us to have the roster updated beforehand. Please do not expect to be able to show up without warning and be able to attend class. If you are wanting to attend a couple of classes on a trial basis, please contact Sensei Brittany directly to arrange dates for attendance and payment.
What to wear?
New students may wear comfortable, appropriate athletic wear to their first classes. Toenails and fingernails are expected to be kept trimmed and tidy, and proper hygiene practices are required as well. Students are expected to wear (at bare minimum) a school shirt and appropriate athletic bottoms by their second month of classes. The reason for this is to reduce distractions from learning and improve feelings of belonging and inclusion to our group!
How much do shirts and uniforms cost?
Youth shirts are $10 and adult shirts are $15, you may purchase as many as you like. Quantities and sizes may vary, but we generally try to keep a few in each size on hand. Unisex sizes apply.
Full school uniforms (dobok) may vary in price based on availability and supplier pricing, but average around $41 plus shipping currently (January 2023). (includes dobok top, belt, and pants)
Pants only with belt are currently $30 plus shipping.
When is class?
Please refer to each class schedule for general use. This is subject to change if the Sensei is indisposed, the gym has conflicts, or it is during a holiday week. If class is cancelled, you will be notified by text, email, or Facebook Messenger as soon as possible.
Why do we sign a photo waiver?
It is not required, but requested in the event we decide to share photos from our class on social media or in advertisements/promotions.
When is payment due?
At the first class attended of each month.
